Based in Washington, DC, Malloy Transcription Service has been serving the Nation's Capital since 1978, an era when transcripts were produced on typewriters while listening to cassette tapes. With the advent of digital audio, however, we embraced the evolving technology, which enhanced our capabilities. Now we use state-of-the-art equipment and have resources at our fingertips, to include sound-editing transcription software. 

Our transcriptionists type on QWERTY keyboards and use a foot pedal to transcribe recordings. Though voice recognition technology has advanced in recent years, it can never replace the human touch completely when it comes verbatim speech. Transcription is much different than hard-copy typing and requires an acquired skill set.  When transcribing the spoken word, a seasoned ear is essential, especially with hard-to-hear audio, accented speech, and technical subject matters. Our team has a strong familiarity with all punctuation style guides as well as a variety of transcript formats.

Transcripts are processed in-house and never outsourced to unknown entities. We value the confidence our clients have placed in us and believe working collaboratively enhances accuracy and consistency.
