Based in Washington, DC, Malloy Transcription Service has been serving the Nation's Capital since 1978, an era when transcripts were produced by typewriters and cassette tapes. With the advent of digital audio, however, we embraced the evolving technology, which enhanced our capabilities. We now use state-of-the-art equipment and have resources at our fingertips, to include sound-editing transcription software.
Our transcriptionists type on QWERTY keyboards and use a foot pedal to transcribe audio, video, and webcast recordings. Though voice recognition technology has advanced in recent years, it can never replace the human touch completely when it comes verbatim speech. Transcription is much different than hard-copy typing and requires an acquired skill set and a seasoned ear when transcribing the spoken word and putting it into print, especially with hard-to-hear audio, accented speech, and technical subject matters.
Each transcript goes through a qualitative checklist, and every effort is made to obtain spellings of unfamiliar terminology by utilizing the internet and our extensive collection of reference materials. Attention to detail is an important part of our internal quality control. Our team has a strong familiarity with all punctuation style guides as well as a variety of transcript formats.
All transcripts are processed in-house and never outsourced to unknown entities. We value the confidence our clients have placed in us and believe working collaboratively enhances accuracy and consistency.
Online, by phone, or in person, we are here to serve you. Let us show you what a transcript is supposed to look like.
